Role: Business Development Manager

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a senior sales professional for the position of Business Development Manager (BDM) in Norway. The appointed BDM will be responsible for expanding TCS’s footprint and presence in the Norwegian market by focusing on select key accounts within the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector, as well as the Public sector. The role is based in Oslo.


The Business Development Manager (BDM) would be responsible for acquisition of new customers, sales order book & revenues from these industry verticals in Norway.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Build and convert a pipeline of qualified leads.
  • Acquire select companies in Norway, with a primary focus on expanding TCS’s business.
  • Manage customers throughout the entire deal process, creating compelling business solutions and presenting winning bids.
  • Lead sales pursuits in Norway, with emphasis on large deals within the specified verticals.
  • Secure new revenue streams from acquired companies.
  • Develop account plans and sales strategies for key accounts to ensure achievement of revenue targets.


Key Qualities:


  • Extensive network as a sales executive, with proven C-level connections and direct experience in shaping, qualifying, pursuing, and closing high-value deals within the specified sectors in Norway.
  • Personal stature and gravitas at the CXO level, capable of engaging credibly with both CXOs and operational stakeholders to present strategic sourcing solutions.
  • Experience and a strong track record in a leading IT services company, preferably with direct exposure to outsourcing business models and global delivery frameworks.
  • Experience in IT Outsourcing (ITO) and Applications Outsourcing (AM) is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of the impact of digital technologies, including AI, on the customer value chain, and the ability to identify transformational opportunities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the sales cycle and the ability to drive stakeholders towards deal closure.


Key Measures:


  • Deal Origination: Ability to seek out, identify, shape, and qualify target deals, leading customers through the early engagement phases and targeting key stakeholders within both the customer’s organization and TCS. Capable of leading diverse teams of local and offshore outsourcing professionals (Industry/ Sales Executives, Client Managers, Solution Architects, Pricing, and Service Delivery).
  • Sales Management: Experience operating in a sales leadership capacity within a global services environment is advantageous.
  • Consulting Experience / Round-table Conference: Proven track record of driving consulting engagements / round-table discussions with CxO-level executives in the relevant industries.
  • Customer Engagement: Demonstrated history of delivering high levels of service to customers.
  • Account Leadership: Previous leadership experience within key or large account environments.
  • Team Player: Thrives in team settings, committed to integrating diverse perspectives to achieve challenging goals and enjoys shared success.
  • Eager Learner: Strives to understand internal dynamics, technical solutions, and pricing components, applying these learnings to future bids.
  • People-Oriented Mindset: Builds confidence and rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
