Overview:

Design Innovation has become essential drivers of user-centered transformation at Thales. To achieve seamless customer experiences and operational efficiency, we embed human-centered design methodologies into our approach to innovation.

The Design Center Singapore, established under the Innovation Hub in 2014, engages customers in collaborative design by leveraging Design Thinking and user-centric innovation. We explore uncharted innovation landscapes with customer end-users and partners, developing new disruptive concepts and business strategies grounded in compelling value propositions. We aim to accelerate the adoption of human-centred methodologies, unlock strategic opportunities, and deliver impactful, future-ready solutions.

Responsibilities:

Experience Design & Research

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand customer needs, behaviors, and pain points.
  • Map customer journeys, service blueprints, personas, and value propositions to visualize end-to-end experiences, to guide project direction.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance customer interactions and improve business processes using design thinking methodologies.
  • Conduct user research to gather actionable insights for improvements.


Prototyping, Visual Storyboarding and Rendering

  • Develop lo-fi to hi-fi wireframes, prototypes, and experience mockups to rapidly test and iterate ideas.
  • Use your storytelling skills to capture requirements and illustrate concepts visually
  • Produce visual storyboards & 3D renders, motion graphics (videos) with GenAI tools to communicate concepts effectively.
  • Use your graphics/visual design skills to produce infographics posters
  • Leverage design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD...) to create interactive flows and testable prototypes.


Service Innovation & Experience Design

  • Co-create and prototype solutions with customers, internal teams, and stakeholders to validate concepts before full-scale implementation.
  • Apply agile and iterative design approaches to refine experiences based on user feedback.
  • Design efficient models and workflows that align with both business objectives and user needs.
  • Collaborate with engineers, design strategists, and UX designers to align experience design with project goals.
  • Advocate for human-centered, inclusive, and sustainable design principles across the organization.


Creative Facilitation

  • Support Design Thinking workshops and facilitate sessions and design sprints


Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience, with background in Industrial & Product design, UI/UX design, or Visual arts/media.
  • Strong experience in visual storytelling and video production.
  • Proficiency in creating 3D renders using Blender, AfterEffects...etc
  • Experience with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, ..) to produce wireframes and prototypes, and creating micro-animations
  • Ability to understand requirements and to translate insights into concepts with visual renderings
  • Experience with design thinking methodologies and familiarity with agile experimentation.
  • Some experience in research and workshop facilitation, including user research, journey mapping, and usability testing.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and convey ideas clearly
  • Experience in design innovation within complex industries such as defence, cybersecurity, aerospace, and public services will be advantageous.

  • Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm
