We’re Hiring | Senior Systems Engineer

Domain: ICT Infrastructure – Sports Facilities & Venues


Role Purpose

The Senior Systems Engineer plays a key role in the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of ICT infrastructure for sports facilities and venues. This position ensures high availability, performance, and security of systems during mega sports events and non-event operations, while providing advanced technical support, system optimization, and hosting application services.


Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management

  • Manage and administer Active Directory, Windows Servers, DHCP, Storage, Networking, Backup, and virtualization environments.
  • Administer Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), particularly Dell VxRail and VMware vSphere / ESXi.
  • Manage and support Azure cloud services, ensuring seamless integration with on-premises infrastructure.
  • Oversee hybrid cloud environments, including Azure virtual networks, compute, storage, and identity management (Entra ID).
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, capacity planning, and hardware lifecycle management.
  • Lead end-to-end infrastructure projects, including RFP preparation, vendor evaluation, migrations, and detailed technical documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with network, security, and application teams to ensure stability and performance.
  • Monitor system health, performance, availability, and security.
  • Provide L2/L3 support for complex and escalated infrastructure issues.
  • Manage CCTV and surveillance server infrastructure, ensuring reliable storage and availability.
  • Plan and coordinate server patching, updates, and maintenance windows.

Incident Management

  • Investigate and diagnose incidents by analyzing event timelines and system logs.
  • Assess the full impact of incidents, including affected users and services.
  • Identify triggers and contributing factors using historical incident and problem records.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, service providers, and vendors until resolution is achieved.
  • Test and validate fixes before closure.

Problem Management

  • Analyze recurring or major incidents to identify underlying root causes.
  • Categorize and prioritize problems based on impact, severity, and frequency.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for high-priority incidents affecting venue operations.
  • Define and test temporary workarounds and permanent resolutions.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.

Experience & Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in Infrastructure / Systems Engineering roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience in hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud).
  • Proven experience supporting large-scale, time-critical environments; sports or event industry exposure is a strong advantage.

Technical Expertise

  • Windows Server & Active Directory
  • Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online
  • SSL Certificate & License Management
  • Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • VMware vSphere, vCenter
  • Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (Dell VxRail preferred)
  • Enterprise Storage Solutions (vSAN, NAS, Dell EMC)
  • Azure IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid services (Azure Arc, Backup, Monitor)
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
  • Engineering
  • Information Technology
  • Computer Science

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Google Associate Cloud Engineer
  • Linux+ or equivalent systems engineering certifications
