In this permanent role, you will work collaboratively with staff, managers & decision-makers to manage day-to-day HR activities and entitlements. You will provide expert advice on HR practices, policies, and industrial instruments, support workforce planning, talent management, recruitment strategies & develop and deliver training & resources to improve workforce capability.

The Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers (DLGWV) is at the forefront of driving sustainable growth across Queensland. Some Of The Core Responsibilities Include
- Providing high level advice, analysis and support to management, employees and the wider HR team on contemporary HR practices through the interpretation and application of industrial instruments and sector wide and departmental policies.
- Developing, presenting and facilitating briefings for management and staff and conduct training where required.
- Preparing reports, submissions, briefing notes and other correspondence in relation for a range of HR operational matters and systems issues.
- Contributing to development of HR strategies, policies, procedures, resources and practices to support the strategic direction of the department and the capability development of DLGWV managers and supervisors.
- Assisting in workforce planning initiatives, including identifying gaps, succession planning, talent management and contributing to recruitment strategies to meet organisational needs.
- Contributing to the evaluation of human resources services and initiatives to ensure services support the department's business outcomes.
- Contributing to team cohesiveness and capability through participation in professional development opportunities and promotion of a positive environment, respectful of the views of others.
- There are no mandatory requirements for this role however, tertiary qualifications in human resources and/or knowledge and experience in human resources will be highly regarded.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
