In this role, you will act as the technical compass for product initiatives, bridging the gap between user needs, product design, and engineering execution. You will define technical specifications, guide implementation, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software in iterative development cycles. This position combines hands-on coding, technical architecture, and product ownership, allowing you to influence both the strategic direction and the technical execution of the product. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into actionable tasks, unblock engineering teams, and continuously improve processes. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment, takes full ownership of initiatives, and is passionate about shipping meaningful, user-focused features. Accountabilities

  • Define and own technical specifications and scope for new features, ensuring alignment with user needs and product goals
  • Break down large initiatives into small, shippable tasks and coordinate execution with engineering and product teams
  • Collaborate with designers and product managers to validate technical feasibility and suggest implementation strategies
  • Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams on API interactions, architectural decisions, and trade-offs
  • Take full ownership of product initiatives from discovery through production, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery
  • Translate complex technical requirements into clear documentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Continuously improve development processes, collaboration methods, and product workflows to optimize velocity and quality

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, or 3+ years in a dedicated Product Engineer role in a SaaS environment
  • Proven experience in technical scoping, estimation, and successful end-to-end delivery of product features
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language and solid understanding of cloud architectures, data schemas, and API design
  • Ability to troubleshoot platform limitations and technical concepts such as OAuth flows, webhooks, and rate limiting
  • Strong user-first mindset with the ability to balance technical feasibility and product value
  • Experience working on AI-powered product features is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Nice-to-have: Technical background (Computer Science degree), experience with social media platforms, German language skills
