Junior Data Analyst

Role Description

This is a contract role for a Junior Data Analyst. The selected candidate will assist in collecting, processing, and analyzing data to help inform business decisions. The Junior Data Analyst will work closely with senior analysts and other departments to ensure that data is accurate, reliable, and insightful. This role will involve preparing data for analysis, performing basic statistical analysis, and presenting findings in a clear and understandable manner.

Key responsibilities include supporting data cleaning and validation, conducting simple analyses to identify trends, and assisting in the creation of reports and dashboards. The Junior Data Analyst will also help maintain databases and data storage systems, ensuring that data is organized and accessible for future use. Additionally, the role may involve assisting in the development of data models and collaborating with team members to meet project goals.

The Junior Data Analyst must have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to learn and apply new data tools and techniques.

Qualifications

Data Analysis Skills: Basic knowledge of data analysis techniques, including the ability to interpret and analyze data to generate insights.

Data Cleaning and Preparation: Experience in cleaning, transforming, and organizing raw data to ensure it is accurate and ready for analysis.

Statistical Tools: Familiarity with statistical tools and techniques (e.g., R, Python, Excel) for analyzing datasets and drawing meaningful conclusions.

Database Management: Basic understanding of database systems (e.g., SQL) and ability to write simple queries to extract data for analysis.

Data Visualization: Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) or Excel to create clear, actionable reports and dashboards.

Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in ensuring the integrity of data and analysis.

Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate data findings to non-technical stakeholders, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical thinking and the ability to approach data challenges in a structured, logical manner.

Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment.

Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and learn from senior analysts and other team members.

• Relevant Academic Qualifications: A degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with data analysis software or additional certifications in analytics tools is a plus.
