The company was founded in Portugal and since 2014 we are based in the Netherlands with our Amsterdam office to provide our expertise to the Dutch market. The position

As a Front End Developer at agap2, you take on the challenge within an international environment with a local focus. You will have the opportunity to work on various projects over the years, based on your experience and interests. Projects within industries such as Banking, Fintech, Telco, Retail, Sports, and Healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

You will work on modern web applications using React, Node.js, and TypeScript, contributing to scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions. You will collaborate closely with other engineers in an agile environment and take ownership of code quality and best practices.

• Develop and maintain web applications using ReactJS and NodeJS
• Build and optimize backend services using Express or similar HTTP server libraries
• Write strictly typed TypeScript code with a strong focus on maintainability and scalability
• Work with Webpack and ES6 modules to manage application builds
• Implement responsive and maintainable styles using Sass, Less, or similar CSS preprocessors
• Design, develop, and optimize RESTful APIs
• Ensure application security, including authentication, authorization, and access management (JWT, OAuth, RBAC)
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests (Jest, Cypress, or similar)
• Maintain high code quality using tools such as ESLint, Prettier, and Git workflows
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile / Scrum environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Some experience with Docker
• Previous work in Scrum teams
• Knowledge of SOLID, DRY, or similar design principles
• Familiarity with microservice architectures
• Bonus points for experience with microfrontends

What you bring to the position

• Strong experience with ReactJS
• Solid knowledge of NodeJS and Express (or similar)
• Advanced TypeScript skills, with strict typing across the codebase
• Experience with Webpack and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
• Proficiency in CSS preprocessors (Sass, Less, or similar)
• Hands-on experience with Git version control
• Strong understanding of RESTful API architecture
• Basic understanding of application security, authentication, and authorization
• Experience writing unit and/or end-to-end tests
