What you’ll do

As a .NET/C# Engineer, you will contribute to the development and integration of our Asset Optimization domain. This includes working on a flex trading dashboard, support continuous improvement of our planning domain, including portfolio optimization and our new asset specific optimization platform within the Virtual Power Plant (VPP). Your focus will be on building scalable and reliable backend solutions, integrating various systems and handling a lot of data flows that support real-time trading decisions and optimal planning of our assets.

You’ll work in a cross-functional product team using a modern stack: .NET/C#, Azure, Kubernetes, Kafka, Python and Vue.js. Python and/or Vue.js are used in our domain, so experience with it is a strong advantage.

Is this about you?

  • Solid experience with .NET/C# and backend development
  • Understanding of cloud platforms and cloud-native development (Azure preferred)
  • Experience with CI/CD, containerization, microservices and event-driven architectures
  • Know how to write performant, maintainable, scalable, secure and highly available microservices using best practice design patterns, and technologies like SQL/ NoSQL, gRPC, Kafka, Azure Service Bus and Azure Eventhub
  • Based in the Netherlands and fluent in English
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to work across disciplines

Bonus points for

  • Strong experience with Python, especially in optimization or analytics use cases
  • Familiarity with Vue.js or other frontend frameworks
  • Experience with Terraform
  • Experience with observability, SLIs and SLOs
  • Knowledge of energy trading or planning systems

You’ll be responsible for

  • Develop and maintain backend services and integrations in .NET/C#
  • Support the integration and preparing all data for the optimization and trading tools within our domain
  • Contribute to the planning and portfolio optimization domain
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, and maintainability in a mission-critical domain
  • Collaborate closely with Python developers, frontend developers, testers, and product managers
  • Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement of our digital solutions

This is where you’ll work

You will join the VPP Asset Optimization team and collaborate with other cross-functional product teams. Your work will directly support Eneco’s trading operations and long-term sustainability goals.

What we have to offer

Gross annual salary between €80.000 and €110.000
