Job Summary

Waldevar Energy is seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer with expertise in TypeScript and Artificial Intelligence to join our engineering team. You will be the architect of the server-side logic, databases, and APIs that form the backbone of our intelligent energy platforms. In this critical role, you will develop and integrate AI-powered services to create predictive models, optimize energy distribution, and unlock new insights from our vast datasets.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in our Voluntari office. We believe that direct, in-person collaboration is key to our innovative culture and the rapid development of our complex energy platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, scalable, and reliable server-side applications and APIs using TypeScript and Node.js;
• Develop and integrate AI/ML models into our core platform to support features like predictive analytics, load forecasting, and anomaly detection;
• Collaborate closely with data scientists to deploy and operationalize machine learning models as robust, scalable microservices;
• Architect and manage complex database systems, including both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) databases;
• Ensure the highest levels of application performance, quality, and responsiveness;
• Implement robust security measures and data protection protocols to safeguard sensitive information.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development;
• Expert proficiency in TypeScript and the Node.js ecosystem;
• Demonstrable experience working with AI/ML concepts and integrating machine learning models into production systems;
• Strong experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful or GraphQL APIs;
• Proficiency with both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB) databases;
• Solid experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes;
• Familiarity with a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), particularly their serverless and AI/ML services;
• Proficient with version control systems, especially Git.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
• Experience with Python in a data science or machine learning context;
• Knowledge of message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) and event-driven architecture;
• Familiarity with MLOps principles and tools for model deployment and monitoring;
• Prior experience or a strong interest in the renewable energy sector.
