About The Role

Our Client is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Developer to provide maintenance, support, and continuous improvement for the CERES application, a mission-critical system used by Ontario ministries to manage plant health data and identify pest threats.

The application is built on the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js) and hosted on Microsoft Azure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support the CERES application to ensure high availability
  • Respond to, investigate, and resolve application issues and defects
  • Implement bug fixes and minor enhancements based on user feedback
  • Identify and prioritize technical upgrades to keep the platform current
  • Support build, deployment, and release management activities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation
  • Collaborate within an Agile delivery team and support system integration

Mandatory Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of full-stack development experience using MERN stack
  • 4+ years experience creating and maintaining build books and deployment documentation
  • Strong experience in Agile software development environments
  • Proven ability to produce clear technical documentation for knowledge transfer
  • Experience designing accessible applications compliant with AODA
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices, including OAuth 2.0 and SAML

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience building and deploying cloud-native solutions on Azure
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices
  • Experience working with Government of Ontario IT Standards (GO-ITS)
  • Exposure to agricultural or environmental data systems
