We are now looking for a Developer, to join our innovative Plant and Cell Development team.

This position is permanent and the location for the position is in Vaasa, Finland.

What you will be doing?

Your main task will be to develop the production process, ensure the driveability of the engines and collaborate with the factory assembly department. The Plant and Cell Development team works as an expert in plant and cell projects. The main focus is primarily on the development of engine testing. You get to influence and participate in the rapidly developing engine testing environment. We offer a technically versatile and flexible environment where the focus is on the use and development of new plant and engine technologies. We act as an enabler of future engine technology. This job requires a determined and systematic approach to moving things forward, as well as thinking outside of the box.

Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Developer, your work will include:

  • You have a role in supporting the team with daily challenges and will work very closely with our team. A good technical understanding of product development, mechanical/electrical engineering, design solutions, manufacturing processes, and plant operations helps you collaborate with design experts and partners
  • Develop and implement Continuous Improvement methodologies towards increased quality, flow and efficienc
  • Develop and manage the tools, lifting equipment and working methods of the department
  • Developing engine installations
  • Support of cell development projects and daily work
  • Ensure that cell process instructions and work instructions are up to date
  • Identification and coordination of materials, equipment and documentation received for plant and cell development projects
  • Develop and implement safety improvements in the department
  • Training and orientation for mechanics
  • Process development

To succeed in this position, you are expected to:

  • A technical degree corresponding to the job description or equivalent work experience
  • Self-propelling active personality with excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Finnish and English language skills are required, and Swedish skill is considered as an advantage
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and self-manage the workload
  • Experience in using SAP, Navisworks, Polarion and M-files

You will shine in this role if you have:

  • Previous knowledge of Marine or Energy projects
  • Previous experience working as supervisor is considered as an advantage
  • Negotiation skills & presentation skills
  • Problem solving and decision making
  • Out of the box thinking and innovative mindset.
  • Experience in using AutoCAD, NX or Teamcenter design tools
  • Electrical and automation experience
