FinMeas is a pioneer in automating geotechnical and environmental risk management processes. Our advanced monitoring solutions and data management systems improve efficiency and safety in mining and ground construction projects. Since 2025 FinMeas is a part of Nordtech Group.

As we now prepare for the next phase of growth, we need an experienced Tech Lead to guide our development teams. We're looking for a hands-on leader who combines strategic vision with technical expertise.

About the role

We are seeking a hands-on technical leader to lead our tech- and development teams in Finland and offshore, oversee the overall architecture of FinMeas Online, and establish development processes that ensure quality and efficiency.

This role uniquely combines strategic leadership with active technical contribution. You'll be directly involved in architectural decisions and implementation work alongside your responsibilities for team leadership, mentorship, and driving innovation. You'll champion technical modernization and AI integration, while leveraging your expertise to enhance our platform's scalability, reliability, and performance. Our current environment consists of PHP, AWS, MySQL, Influx and Git, among others. We're continuously evaluating and modernizing our technology landscape to support our growth and innovation goals.

Your main responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development:

• Lead and mentor the development team through coaching, one-on-ones, and continuous feedback; fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence
• Manage team scheduling, workload distribution, and resource planning
• Recruit, onboard, and develop team members together with the CEO and product leadership

Technical Strategy & Architecture:

• Design, oversee, and implement the overall architecture of FinMeas Online, ensuring alignment with business goals and high standards for scalability, performance, security, and compliance
• Drive technical modernization including framework updates and technology stack evolution in close cooperation with management and customers
• Champion AI integration both as an internal efficiency enabler and as part of our product innovation
• Establish quality standards and continuously improve development efficiency and processes

Collaboration & Prioritization:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, prioritize work based on business needs and product roadmap, and deliver impactful solutions
• Communicate clearly and strategically to ensure alignment across the organization

What we're looking for

Must have:

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience in a leadership role (technical lead, architect, or similar)
• Strong PHP and modern web development knowledge
• Leadership experience with ability to inspire and motivate teams
• Fluent in Finnish and English

Nice to have:

• Experience with technical modernization and process improvement
• AI technology experience (we're actively exploring this)
• Experience working in distributed or international teams
