The Challenge 🧩

You will join a focused Topic Team, shipping features to millions of users while contributing to a constantly evolving 10+ year-old codebase. You will need to balance rapid feature delivery with keeping our stack modern and future-proof.

What you will face:

  • Modern & Pragmatic Stack: A Kotlin-first app using MVVM+UDF, Coroutines, and Clean Code principles. All new features and our Design System are built using Jetpack Compose, and we are actively migrating legacy views.
  • Modularization and DI:You will navigate a project of 50+ feature modules. We use Dagger/Anvil for DI and are currently evaluating Metro to further optimize our build times and leverage its latest features.
  • Quality first: We maintain 70% test coverage using practices like snapshot testing and integration tests in our daily development. Final release checks are performed by running E2E tests (via Maestro) and manual regression testing.
  • Production Stability: You will use our crash and performance monitoring systems to ensure your features run smoothly for our millions of users.

What You Will Do πŸ‘‡ Ensure initiatives are aligned with both technical best practices and product goals. Apply a product-first mindset, balancing user value with technical excellence.

  • You'll drive high-quality product experiences while helping the team grow. To do so, you will:
    • Build and maintain feature modules owned by your team, acting as the guardian of their quality.
    • Work with a cross-functional team (Product, Design, Backend) to help define and implement new features.
    • Act as a technical reference for your team and share your experience with other Android Engineers across the Tribe.
    • Help improve our architecture, tooling, and performance practices.
    • Mentor your peers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.

  • Experience working in large modular codebases shared by multiple teams.
  • A data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills.
  • The ability to balance technical trade-offs with product impact.
  • Strong communication skills and a growth mindset, with an openness to learning and knowledge sharing.
