Senior DevOps Engineer
NYC (Lower Manhattan) – Hybrid (2 days onsite)
A growing fintech firm in Lower Manhattan is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to help scale and secure its cloud infrastructure. This role is ideal for a proactive engineer who enjoys automation, ownership, and working closely with engineering and security teams in a fast-paced environment.
You will play a key role in designing, maintaining, and improving CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and security practices supporting a modern application stack built on Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and AWS.
Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS-based infrastructure
• Own and enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub and CircleCI
• Implement automation across infrastructure, deployments, monitoring, and security controls
• Partner with engineering teams supporting Java/Spring Boot backend services and Angular front-end applications
• Manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
• Drive best practices around cloud security, access control, and compliance
• Write and maintain scripts and tooling using Python, shell, and related scripting languages
• Monitor system performance, reliability, and availability; proactively address issues
• Contribute to architectural decisions and infrastructure strategy as the company scales
Qualifications
• 5+ years of hands-on DevOps experience, preferably in AWS-centric environments
• Strong experience with AWS services and cloud security fundamentals
• Proven experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production environments
• Strong scripting skills in Python and shell
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, CircleCI or similar)
• Solid understanding of infrastructure automation and DevOps best practices
• Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Experience in fintech, financial services, or a regulated environment is a plus
• Prior experience in a smaller firm or startup environment is preferred but not required
Additional Details
• Location: Lower Manhattan
• Hybrid schedule: 2 days onsite per week
• US Citizens or Green Card holders only
