Business Development Specialist | Innovation | Technology | Sustainability

AWJ, the leading Innovation, Technology, and Sustainability company, is looking for a Business Development Specialist to drive growth across its four integrated pillars: AWJ Innovation, Systems, Sustain and Academy.

This role is ideal for a commercially driven professional who can combine business development, marketing strategy, and greenfield growth, while working closely with senior leadership and multidisciplinary teams.

What you’ll do:

• Develop new business and greenfield opportunities

• Shape and execute business-driven marketing strategies

• Build strong partnerships across government and industry

• Position AWJ as a national and regional leader in innovation and sustainability

Essential Criteria:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, Innovation, Sustainability, or a related field.

2. Ability to identify, develop, and close new business opportunities.

3. Strong financial literacy and the ability to analyse and interpret business and financial data.

4. Familiarity with Oman’s business and innovation ecosystems.

5. Experience in preparing and delivering professional business proposals.

6. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and networking skills with business partners, clients, and investors.

7. Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, in Arabic & English.

8. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

Desirable Criteria:

1. Significant experience of business development in innovation, consultancy, or knowledge economy sectors.

2. Experience in managing integrated marketing campaigns and, in particular, social media initiatives.

3. Familiarity with marketing analytics, digital advertising metrics, and customer insights tools.

4. Experience guiding marketing or communications staff as part of a leadership role.
