Role: DevOps Engineer for Telecom OSS Inventory

Location: Helsinki, Finland

Employment type: Full-time

Experience: 6+yrs

Join a high-performing telecom engineering team as a DevOps Engineer, where you will drive CI/CD automation, infrastructure modernization, and operational excellence across BSS/OSS systems. You will work on large-scale telecom platforms including billing, CRM, provisioning, and network management while enabling faster releases, high availability, and resilient operations. This role offers deep exposure to Kubernetes, cloud environments, automation frameworks, monitoring tools, and multi-vendor telecom ecosystems in an Agile and DevOps-driven environment.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor platform health (ArcGIS services, Python jobs, schedulers); triage incidents, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and deliver hotfixes/workarounds.
  • Operate and optimize ArcGIS (Server/Enterprise/Pro): publish/maintain map services, feature services, network datasets, geoprocessing tools.
  • Curate canonical datasets: fiber routes/ducts, splice points, PoPs, customer sites, serviceability polygons, right‑of‑way constraints.
  • Develop and maintain Python ETL/ELT pipelines (ArcPy/GeoPandas/Shapely/Fiona), data validation, schema mapping, and scheduled jobs.
  • Implement and tune costing models (capex/opex parameters, trenching, aerial, wayleave, lease pricing), ensuring versioned models and audit trails.
  • Integrate with OSS Inventory (resource/service models), CRM/Quotation, Order Management, and Document Management systems via REST/GraphQL/ETL.
  • Enforce RBAC for map services and data access; secure credentials and API tokens; maintain audit logs.

Experience & Skills Requirements:

Must have:

  • ArcGIS (Enterprise/Server/Pro): services publishing, geoprocessing, network analyst, data management, caching, security.
  • Python: ArcPy, GeoPandas, Shapely, Fiona; building robust ETL/ELT pipelines; unit testing and packaging.
  • Spatial databases: PostGIS / SQL Server / Oracle Spatial; query tuning, indexing, topology rules.
  • Telecom OSS domain: Plan & Build, fiber design, serviceability; basics of Inventory models (resources/services, sites/PoPs, ducts/cables).
  • Costing models: capex/opex drivers, labor/materials, route constraints; ability to version and audit.
  • Integration patterns: REST/GraphQL, file‑based exchange, message queues; idempotency, retries, error handling.
  • ITIL L2/L3: incident lifecycle, RCA authoring, problem records, change governance/CAB participation.
  • Linux & scripting: shell, scheduling (cron/Airflow), log analysis, performance profiling.

Good to have:

  • Experience with ArcGIS Network Analyst, ModelBuilder, or custom geoprocessing tools.
  • Familiarity with FME Workbench for complex geospatial ETL.
  • Exposure to TM Forum frameworks (eTOM/SID/ODA) and sales/configuration tools (CPQ/CRM).
  • Knowledge of OpenStreetMap/routing libraries for alternative pathing; basics of permitting/ROW.
  • CI/CD for data pipelines (Git, Jenkins/Azure DevOps) and containerization where suitable.

Success Metrics & Unique Selling Proposition (USP) of The Role:

  • Faster and more reliable software delivery through automated CI/CD and containerized deployments.
  • Improved system stability, uptime, and SLA performance in large-scale telecom environments.
  • Strong impact on cost reduction and operational efficiency through automation and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Ability to lead modernization of BSS/OSS platforms using Kubernetes, cloud, and advanced monitoring tools.
  • Act as a key driver connecting development, operations, and architecture teams for DevOps excellence.

What we offer / What’s in it for you:

  • Opportunity to work on large-scale telecom platforms with modern DevOps and automation technologies.
  • Exposure to cloud, Kubernetes, monitoring ecosystems, and next-gen BSS/OSS modernization initiatives.
  • Collaborative environment with cross-functional and global engineering teams.
  • Continuous learning and career growth supported by certifications and complex project exposure.
  • Ownership of strategic DevOps initiatives with direct impact on operational performance and delivery speed.
