Job summary:
You will take ownership of Beforepay’s New Design System—playing a critical role in designing and evolving the user experience for both our customers and support agents. You’ll work across our mobile app, web platform, and support systems, creating cohesive, user-centric designs for loan management solutions. This role is for someone who can manage their own workload, proactively seek out cross-functional collaboration, and navigate uncertainty as our processes take shape.
Key responsibilities:
- Design system ownership: build and maintain a robust design system that drives consistency and elevates the user experience across Beforepay’s products.
- User research & insights: lead and or collaborate on user research initiatives, including interviews, usability testing, and data analysis to inform design decisions and continuously improve the user experience.
- Customer & agent UX: design intuitive, seamless experiences for loan management from both customer and support agent perspectives.
- Collaborative development: work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to create innovative design solutions, despite evolving requirements and uncertainty.
- Prototyping & testing: create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs. lead usability testing and incorporate feedback into designs.
- Process leadership: help establish and improve design processes that align with the evolving needs of the product squads.
- Cross-functional collaboration: actively engage with teams across the company to gather insights, test assumptions, and deliver high-quality designs.
- Iterative improvement: continuously refine designs based on qualitative and quantitative data, always striving to improve the user experience.

Required skills & experience:
- 3+ years of experience in product design, preferably in fintech or a related field.
- Proficiency in Figma and experience building and maintaining design systems.
- Strong mobile and web design experience (Android, iOS, and web platforms).
- Experience working in a dynamic, evolving environment, preferably with agile methodologies.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate design decisions, interpret feedback and collaborate across teams.
- User research experience: hands on experience with usability testing, user interviews, and gathering insights from qualitative and quantitative data.
Nice to have:
- Startup experience: comfortable navigating uncertainty and forming processes as the company grows.
- Experience in loan or finance products, particularly customer experience design in fintech.
- Familiarity with support systems, dashboard and platform design.

- Remuneration: A competitive base salary range of $110,000 – $130,000, depending on experience.
