Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and passionate Android Developer Intern (Mandatory Internship) to join our team, either remotely or on-site at our Istanbul office (ITU Teknokent).

As part of our cross-functional team consisting of mobile developers, AI engineers, backend engineers, and product managers, you will gain hands-on experience building high-performance, AI-powered Android applications using modern Android technologies such as Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.

This internship is designed for students who are required to complete a mandatory internship as part of their university curriculum and who want real-world experience in a production-level startup environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university program that requires a mandatory internship
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Experience developing Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose (academic or personal projects are sufficient)
• Ability to translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into clean, maintainable, and functional code
• Strong interest in building user-friendly, responsive, and visually polished interfaces
• Basic knowledge of consuming REST APIs using Retrofit and OkHttp
• Familiarity with asynchronous programming using Coroutines and/or Flow
• Understanding of MVVM architecture (Clean Architecture is a plus)
• Experience using Git and GitHub for version control
• Willingness to learn, take ownership, and collaborate in a fast-paced startup environment

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Android Jetpack components such as ViewModel, Lifecycle, and Navigation Compose
• Experience with DataStore or SharedPreferences
• Familiarity with WorkManager
• Dependency Injection experience using Hilt, Dagger, or Koin
• Local data persistence using Room or SQLite
• Experience with real-time communication technologies such as WebSocket or WebRTC
• Interest in AI, machine learning, computer vision, or digital health products
• Knowledge of Material Design principles and Android UI best practices
• Familiarity with Google Play build and release processes
• Strong appreciation for clean code, modular architecture, and modern Android development practices
