Join our client's dynamic team, where they are committed to innovation and excellence. Our client, a major defence organisation is looking for a talented Senior DevOps Engineer to help them streamline their operations and enhance infrastructure.
Your new role
Working as a Senior DevOps, you'll be a thought leader in the team focused on finding new ways to automate procedures and uplift capability. Some specific duties include:
- Architect, manage and maintain Windows Server environments.
- Management of build agent infrastructure for developers to enable faster CI/CD workflows for Windows/Linux/Embedded systems, as well as build platforms for Python and .net based applications.
- Ownership of global R&D Infrastructure, responsible for day-to-day operations and critical production systems, including JIRA, Artifactory and Bitbucket.
- Administer Linux systems (Red Hat, Debian, and Ubuntu).
- Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
- Create and manage Linux and Windows Standard Operating Environments (SOE).
- Oversee virtualization technologies including vSphere and Hyper-V.
- Design and manage SAN architecture and administration.
- Configure and troubleshoot networking equipment (Cisco, Dell).
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (Self-Hosted and Azure).
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for the role, you must have the following skills:
- Deep experience with build, deployment and maintenance of secure Linux and Windows operating systems using Packer, Terraform and Ansible, both client and server side.
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role.
- Strong expertise in Windows Server and Linux administration.
- Proficiency in scripting languages: PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (vSphere & Hyper-V).
- Solid understanding of SAN architecture and networking principles.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
