Join our client's dynamic team, where they are committed to innovation and excellence. Our client, a major defence organisation is looking for a talented Senior DevOps Engineer to help them streamline their operations and enhance infrastructure.



Your new role

Working as a Senior DevOps, you'll be a thought leader in the team focused on finding new ways to automate procedures and uplift capability. Some specific duties include:

  • Architect, manage and maintain Windows Server environments.
  • Management of build agent infrastructure for developers to enable faster CI/CD workflows for Windows/Linux/Embedded systems, as well as build platforms for Python and .net based applications.
  • Ownership of global R&D Infrastructure, responsible for day-to-day operations and critical production systems, including JIRA, Artifactory and Bitbucket.
  • Administer Linux systems (Red Hat, Debian, and Ubuntu).
  • Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
  • Create and manage Linux and Windows Standard Operating Environments (SOE).
  • Oversee virtualization technologies including vSphere and Hyper-V.
  • Design and manage SAN architecture and administration.
  • Configure and troubleshoot networking equipment (Cisco, Dell).
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (Self-Hosted and Azure).


What you'll need to succeed

In order to be considered for the role, you must have the following skills:

  • Deep experience with build, deployment and maintenance of secure Linux and Windows operating systems using Packer, Terraform and Ansible, both client and server side.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong expertise in Windows Server and Linux administration.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages: PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (vSphere & Hyper-V).
  • Solid understanding of SAN architecture and networking principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
