The role of Revenue Assurance is responsible for overseeing and executing comprehensive assessing technology risks, and safeguarding revenue across all telecom services. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, strengthens internal controls, minimizes revenue leakage, and provides strategic insights to senior management. Success in this position requires strong expertise in telecom operations, billing systems, networks, cybersecurity, and revenue assurance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities :
Revenue Assurance
- Oversee the complete revenue lifecycle, including acquisition, usage, rating, billing, collections, and settlements.
- Conduct detailed reconciliations of subscriber information, usage data, and billing records to identify errors or leakages.
- Design and implement revenue assurance controls across mobile, fixed, broadband, IoT, interconnect, roaming, and digital products.
- Analyze CDRs, EDRs, and billing outputs to detect anomalies or revenue inconsistencies.
- Perform root-cause analyses on revenue loss issues and work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
- Manage automated RA monitoring tools and assurance platforms.
- Support pricing validation, product setup reviews, and regulatory tariff compliance checks.
Risk Management
- Conduct IT and revenue risk assessments in line with IIA, COBIT, ISO 27001, and internal frameworks.
- Identify emerging risks related to technology, cybersecurity, fraud, and revenue integrity.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to improve the company’s overall risk and control posture.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, coach, and develop revenue assurance team members.
- Work closely with senior management, IT, Networks, Finance, Commercial, and Technical departments to drive audit and RA initiatives.
- Communicate key findings, risks, and insights to management and the Audit Committee.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- Master’s degree is an advantage.
Professional Certifications (Preferred)
- CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CIA
- TM Forum Revenue Assurance Certification (highly desirable)
- ITIL, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, COBIT certifications are beneficial.
Experience
- 8–12+ years in revenue assurance in the telecom sector.
- In-depth knowledge of telecom billing systems, charging platforms, mediation, OSS/BSS, network elements, and CRMs.
- Hands-on experience with RA tools, data analytics, SQL, or big-data environments.
- Strong understanding of internal audit and risk-based audit methodologies.
Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in billing processes, CDR flows, and rating systems.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and data-mining skills.
- Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional projects and manage complex audit engagements.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
