The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Data Scientist/Anayst to join the team on a 12-month contract to provide parental leave coverage across multiple data science teams. Your first assignment will be with the Migration Data Science team, where you’ll support customers transitioning from on-premise infrastructure to the cloud. You’ll be responsible for building datasets, analysing customer journeys, and developing dashboards that improve the migration experience and drive strategic insights. You’ll be embedded within each team you support, working closely with team leads, data scientists, and stakeholders. A dedicated knowledge buddy will support your onboarding and integration into each team.
Required Skills
- Experience: 8-10 years in data science or analytics roles.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in SQL.
- Experience with data analysis programming languages (e.g., Python or R).
- Proficiency in data visualization and dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau)
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent written communication to clearly articulate insights and findings.
- Strong verbal communication for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
- Proven project management skills, including regular progress updates and task coordination.
- Experience in fast-paced, agile environments.
- Familiarity with cloud migration or customer journey analytics.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new teams and business domains.
- Comfortable working across time zones (especially AEST and PST).
- Work across multiple teams and projects, gaining broad exposure to different domains.
- Build a strong internal network within a global technology organization.
- Contribute to high-impact initiatives that support strategic business goals.
- Flexible remote work environment with structured onboarding support.
- Potential for contract extension to 18 months, subject to performance and business needs.
