Our partner is looking for a highly skilled Network and Security Engineer to join their dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in designing, implementing, and managing network infrastructure and security measures. This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on expertise to ensure the efficiency, reliability, and security of our network systems. Additionally, a strong background in virtualization and expertise with load balancers is essential.

Role 💼

• Network Design and Implementation:
• Design, deploy, and manage robust network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
• Ensure network performance, reliability, and scalability to meet business needs.
• Implement and manage network monitoring and diagnostic tools.

• Security Management:
• Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures.
• Implement and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security technologies.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.

• Virtualization:
• Manage and maintain virtualized environments using platforms such as VMware and Proxmox.
• Optimize virtualization strategies to ensure efficient resource utilization and high availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve virtualization-related issues.

• Load Balancing:
• Implement and manage load balancers, including HAProxy, to distribute network traffic efficiently.
• Ensure load balancing solutions are configured for high availability and performance.
• Monitor load balancer performance and make adjustments as necessary.

• Troubleshooting and Support:
• Diagnose and resolve network, security, and virtualization issues promptly.
• Provide support for network-related incidents and changes.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement preventive measures.

• Compliance and Best Practices:
• Ensure network infrastructure complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Stay current with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies.
• Implement best practices for network, security, and virtualization management.

• Documentation and Reporting:
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, security policies, and incident reports.
• Generate regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and compliance status.
• Provide input for capacity planning and future infrastructure needs.

• Collaboration and Teamwork:
• Work closely with other IT team members, developers, and stakeholders to support business objectives.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge within the team.
• You will report to the Infrastructure Team Leader

Profile 🙋🏻‍♀️

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network and security engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience with network design, implementation, and management.
• Strong background in network security, including firewall management, IDS/IPS, and VPN technologies.
• Extensive experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware and Proxmox.
• Expertise in load balancing technologies, particularly HAProxy.

• Skills:
• Proficiency in network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP,..).
• Strong understanding of security principles and best practices.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., Wireshark, Zabbix).
• Scripting skills for automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
• Expertise in Linux/Windows is a Plus.

• Certifications:
• Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or CompTIA Security+ are a plus.
