We are looking for a talented professional with experience in ice cream product development within regional R&D teams and a proven ability to identify consumer-driven opportunities that deliver both delight and profitable growth. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive Innovation & Quality: Lead product development initiatives, ensuring high-quality standards while reducing complexity, waste, and costs.
- Lead R&D Community of Practice: Collaborate with local teams (Marketing, Technical Data Management, Regulatory Affairs) and R&D experts to provide technical support on legislation changes, authority challenges, PR or QA incidents, and competitive product assessments.
- Technical Leadership: Act as the R&D lead for a diverse portfolio of ice cream products, guiding innovation and renovation processes tailored to regional needs.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Marketing and Supply Chain to define the innovation roadmap and manage the technical development of new products.
- Project Management: Maintain effective and timely communication of project status with business partners.
- Trend & Technology Exploration: Investigate new materials, processes, and technologies to generate ideas and stay ahead of market trends.
- Lab & Pilot Plant Execution: Plan, coordinate, and execute lab and pilot plant work, including recipe development and artwork label creation.
- Scale-Up & Manufacturing: Work closely with processing and supply chain teams to scale products from lab to full production.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure accurate technical documentation and compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Cost Optimization: Identify and prioritize opportunities for cost reduction across formulations, raw materials, and factory processes.
- Governance & Leadership: Lead monthly cross-functional steering committees, unblock issues, and ensure resource prioritization.
- Team Development: Coach and mentor team members, providing technical training and guidance.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive efficiency and performance improvements through evolving ways of working.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS:
- A deep knowledge and passion for product design and creative product development, preferably in ice cream category.
- High level communication and influencing skills are essential to manage interfaces. This role requires management of stakeholders across METSA region.
- Understanding of scale-up and operational implementation.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Professional networking and stakeholder management, external focus.
- Project Finance and the Strategic Innovation Business Case.
- Working with colleagues from diverse cultures, inspiring teamwork & collaboration.
