Information Technology Intern

About The Opportunity

Maitland City Council's Pathways program is a fantastic way to kick-start your career and gain professional experience in an industry you are passionate about!

Commencing in early 2026, for a period of one year, we are looking for an Information Technology Intern to join our organisation.

Our Internship Program will give an individual an opportunity to join our Enterprise Architecture team, supporting Council's data-driven decision-making by assisting in the collection, preparation, analysis, and reporting of business data. This role helps build and maintain dashboards, perform basic analytical tasks, and contribute to improvements in data quality and reporting processes, all while actively learning analytics tools, methods, and best practices, whilst undertaking Certificate IV level study in Information Technology.

About You

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and be able to demonstrate a strong attention to detail.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hold a basic understanding of data analysis concepts and have a genuine interest in information technology.

Applicants who have experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI would be highly regarded.

Benefits

This is a full time, temporary role (one-year contract) working a 35-hour week, with a salary commencing from $53,196 per year + 12% super.

Council will also cover the full cost of the Certificate IV you complete during your internship. As a council employee you will also have access to staff benefits such as flexible working arrangements & fitness passport.
