The Role:
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our PostgreSQL Developer Experience team. This team’s mission is bold and clear: Make building modern apps effortless, backed by the world’s most resilient Postgres database.
As a full-stack engineering expert, you’ll transform complex PostgreSQL features into elegant, intuitive interfaces for developers. You’ll move with urgency and a bias for action, while exercising sound judgment to balance innovation, risk, and opportunity against release schedules and ambitious project scope.
Our back-end systems are mostly implemented in Python, with bits of Go and C, while the front end is based on React and Typescript.
In this role, you’re not just executing — you’re shaping the PostgreSQL experience for developers, making it delightful, discoverable, and effortless to adopt.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver E2E Developer Experience: Take ownership of the technical implementation across the full user journey — from onboarding and data migration to sustained usage, developer satisfaction, and growth opportunities.
- Build Intuitive Interfaces: Design and implement front-end applications, dashboards, and developer-facing tools that make PostgreSQL effortless to adopt and use.
- Obsess Over Usage Data: Instrument and monitor product usage to understand developer behavior, identify friction points, and drive data-informed improvements.
- Experiment & Iterate Quickly: Work in short cycles, shipping prototypes and features rapidly to test adoption and improve the experience.
- Work Across a Modern Codebase: Collaborate on a stack where back-end systems are primarily Python, with components in Go and C, while the front end is built on React and TypeScript, enabling you to contribute to a rich, full stack developer experience.
- Champion Quality at Speed: Deliver high-quality, maintainable code while embracing agility and rapid iteration, and actively participate in technical planning to guide architectural decisions and trade-offs.
- Collaborate Cross-functionally: Partner with back-end engineers, product managers, designers, and product advocates to ensure seamless, end-to-end developer workflows.
- Excellent development skills in Python, TypeScript, and React
- Excellent understanding of SQL and databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Passion for developer experience and eagerness to make complex systems simple and enjoyable.
- Proactive, self-starter mentality and a can-do attitude.
- A track record of delivering developer-facing products or tools is a big plus.
