Senior Construction Project Manager – (Germany)

A leading European energy storage company is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Construction to lead the execution of large-scale, stand-alone battery energy storage (BESS) projects across Germany.
Role Overview
You will take end-to-end responsibility for the construction and delivery of complex energy infrastructure projects, acting as the asset owner’s senior representative. The role involves managing EPC contractors and suppliers, overseeing site activities, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with technical and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full construction lifecycle of utility-scale BESS projects
- Manage EPC contractors, site activities, HSE, quality, schedule and cost control
- Oversee civil works, MV/HV electrical installation, grid connection and commissioning
- Act as the primary interface with contractors, grid operators and authorities
- Resolve critical construction and contractual issues
- Ensure readiness for grid integration and commercial operation
- Provide clear reporting to senior management
Candidate Profile
- 5+ years in a senior project management role
- Background in energy, renewables, grid infrastructure or industrial projects
- Strong experience with EPC contracts (e.g. FIDIC), claims and change management
- Experience with BESS, substations or high-voltage systems preferred
- Fluent English; willingness to travel frequently across Germany
