Senior Software Engineer (AI Systems)
Location: Galway, hybrid working
Contract length: Long-term contract (12+ months), excellent day rate
AI Engineer / Senior Software Engineer required to join an R&D team working on creating AI apps that can be applied to large-scale, data-heavy systems in a modern cloud environment. The role is primarily Python-based, however strong Java or C# engineers who are open to cross-training into Python will be fully supported.
You’ll be working with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar), including API integration and performance optimisation and designing and implementing AI agents that can reason, plan, and execute tasks across systems

Desired Skills
- 6+ years’ experience in enterprise software development.
- Strong experience in Python preferred, however Java, or C#, with solid Object-Oriented Programming fundamentals and data structures knowledge.
- Experience working with large datasets and building scalable, production-grade applications.
- Experience designing and building data pipelines (extract, transform, load) across platforms such as Oracle, Snowflake, S3, PL/SQL, or similar data stores.
- Familiarity with data libraries such as Pandas / NumPy is a strong plus.
- Experience consuming and integrating with REST APIs / microservices.
