About the role
SpeakUp is looking for a Technical Product Owner to join our product team and help shape the future of our whistleblowing and case management platform. In this role, you’ll translate product direction into well-defined, buildable features that deliver real value to our customers worldwide.
You’ll work closely with a Product Manager who owns the overall product vision and roadmap, while you take ownership of feature-level discovery, definition, and technical clarity. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys diving deep into how systems work, exploring technical trade-offs, and collaborating closely with engineers to design robust, scalable solutions.
If you thrive in an agile, fast-paced environment and want to make a meaningful impact on a product that helps create a safer and more ethical world, we’d love to hear from you.
Key responsibilities
- Own and manage the product backlog for your product area, prioritising work based on impact, risk, and learning
- Translate product direction and problem statements into clear, actionable, and technically sound user stories and feature definitions
- Lead discovery and definition for features within your scope, including: User needs and success criteria; System behaviour, edge cases, and constraints; High-level technical approaches and dependencies
- Collaborate closely with engineers to: Explore solution options and trade-offs; Validate feasibility and complexity early; Refine features throughout development
- Work on technically complex areas of the product, such as: AI-assisted features; APIs and integrations; Authentication, permissions, and SSO; Workflows, automations, and configuration; Security, privacy, and compliance-related functionality
- Act as the primary point of contact for how your part of the product works, not just what it does
- Present product ideas, designs, and demos to stakeholders across the business
- Coordinate internal release communication and contribute to clear, timely product releases
What we are looking for
- 4+ years of experience in a product role (e.g. Product Owner, Product Manager, or Technical Product role)
- Proven experience taking complex features from idea to production in an agile environment
- Strong ability to understand and reason about technical concepts without needing to code
- Experience working on products involving: APIs or system integrations; Access control, permissions, or security concepts; Complex workflows or rules-based systems
- Comfortable working in a scale-up environment, where processes evolve and ambiguity is part of the job
- Curious by nature, with a strong desire to understand how systems work end-to-end
- Clear communicator who can explain technical concepts simply and challenge assumptions when needed
- A genuine interest in empowering individuals to speak up and drive positive change
