About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a dynamic team within our Data Management function. You will work closely with analysts and engineers to design, develop, and optimize data solutions that enable the organization to generate actionable insights. This role requires strong technical skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to collaborate in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain software that enables efficient data analysis.
- Perform complex data analyses and translate business questions into structured data models.
- Build and optimize data pipelines and datasets using SQL and Python.
- Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to design end-to-end solutions in cloud environments.
- Coach colleagues in Python and data-related tools to strengthen team capabilities.
- Identify patterns, trends, and relationships in large datasets to support decision-making.
- Contribute to a data-driven culture by promoting best practices in data analysis and software use.
- Engage with stakeholders to identify opportunities, manage expectations, and facilitate collaboration.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a data-focused or analytics role.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience with data pipelines, cloud platforms (e.g., Databricks, Cloudera), and dashboarding tools (Power BI or similar).
- Knowledge of Agile frameworks, preferably SAFe.
- Analytical and conceptual thinking with a proactive mindset.
- Strong coaching and communication skills.
- Investigative, results-oriented, and positively critical attitude.
- Good command of Dutch is required.
- Knowledge of data science is a plus.
This a 12 months contract (ZZP or payroll) based in Amsterdam or Limburg
