We’re hiring a Cloud Operations Engineer to ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of our AWS infrastructure and platform services. This role is hands-on and focused on operational excellence, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. The engineer will work across a broad cloud environment, supporting patching, upgrades, release execution, alert triage, automation, and security remediation.
Responsibilities
- Perform system patching, upgrades, and maintenance across AWS services (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, ALBs/NLBs).
- Support release cycles with proper change control, rollback readiness, and post-deployment validation.
- Triage and resolve infrastructure alerts (Datadog), contributing to noise reduction and improved observability.
- Participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation and incident response.
- Maintain runbooks, ticket hygiene, and operational documentation for repeatable processes.
- Contribute to Terraform-based infrastructure and monitoring resources.
- Automate recurring operational tasks to improve consistency and reduce manual effort.
- Apply security best practices across IAM, networking, and resource configurations.
Requirements
- 3-4 years in cloud operations, platform engineering, or similar.
- Proficiency with AWS (EC2, IAM, VPC, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, ALB/NLB).
- Familiarity with Kubernetes (EKS) operations and troubleshooting.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring and alert tuning.
- Experience with Linux and Windows server fundamentals.
- Passion for best practices in documentation.
- Exposure to platform operations (e.g., releases, upgrades, observability)
- Experience supporting production workloads in enterprise or highly regulated environments (e.g., financial services, PCI DSS, SOC).
- Exposure to incident management and postmortem practices.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and IaC Terraform.
- Experience collaborating in multi-team shared-responsibility environments.
- Follow-the-sun support with defined handovers and escalation paths.
- Approximately 1 week on-call every 2 months (after probation).
