We're hiring for a Planning Analyst. This position will assist the Portfolio & Planning team in facilitating demand requests, supporting the Head of Portfolio & Planning and internal Enterprise Services stakeholders to establish and maintain portfolio governance, uplift planning capability, and coordinate strategic planning activities across Enterprise Services.


Enterprise Services is the strategic hub of Australia Post, delivering the technology, data, digital and cyber capabilities that enable reliable, secure and scalable operations across the organisation.


The role will require activities such as data management including, extraction, analysis, visualisation, reporting process automation as well as pack preparations, facilitating forums, minute & action taking, and ensuring all portfolio-level commitments are met. Attention to detail, strong data and analytics skills complemented by presentation skills, and written and verbal communication are essential.


Additionally, this role will partner with Business Domain teams to drive the quarterly planning schedule and cadence, facilitate contention management and prioritisation forums as required, and ensure transparent communication of decision-making.


What you’ll deliver with us

Data Analytics

  • Develop and maintain portfolio data foundations for informed decision making
  • Develop and maintain single source of truth for portfolio decision making connecting initiatives data points across multiple systems (e.g. financials, stage gates, demand forecast etc)
  • Enable and support development of the Enterprise Services Quarterly Investment Review submission and the Quarterly Business Planning process.

Commercial & Strategic Priorities

  • Input into decision-making to prioritise initiatives within the constraints of funding, platforms, people, and time.
  • Maintain single-source visibility and a backlog of all Enterprise Services initiative requests.
  • Partner with Business Domain teams to drive quarterly planning schedule and cadence, facilitate contention management and prioritisation forums, and ensure transparent decision-making communication.
  • Support Enterprise Services portfolio governance activities as directed.

Financial (budget expenditure, revenue, lending authority, profit targets)

  • Input into decision to fund priorities from OPEX and investment funding and enable quarterly rebalance.
  • Financial performance tracking at the project, program and portfolio levels.
  • Benefit metric tracking


About you

You’re a data‑savvy planning professional with deep experience across analytics and modelling trend, scenario and sensitivity analysis, paired with advanced Excel capability (including complex formulas, Power Query and modelling), robust data management, and automation. You understand data governance end‑to‑end: controls, relationships and auditability, and you turn complex datasets into clear, compelling stories through best‑practice visualisation and BI tooling. You bring commercial acumen from large digital organisations, with exposure to portfolio‑level financial planning and prioritisation, and you’re comfortable navigating governance, risk and compliance frameworks.

You thrive on creating a single source of truth that enables smarter, faster decision‑making across the enterprise.


You’ll also need

  • Management consulting background would be highly regarded.
  • Commercial management and planning skills
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
