Environmental Conditions

Cold Room/Freezers -22degreesF/-6degrees C, Laboratory Setting, Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Will work with hazardous/toxic materials

Your role as a Senior Manufacturing Scientist for development and improvement of protein downstream purification processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops new protein downstream purification processes;
  • Improves existing manufacturing processes with low reproducibility;
  • Develops and implements scale-up of protein downstream purification;
  • Plans and performs experiments;
  • Performs biochemical and physicochemical analysis of proteins;
  • Troubleshoots by analysing batch record and quality control data;
  • Conducts stability studies of proteins;
  • Develops analytical methods for characterization of proteins;
  • Orders reagents and instruments needed for development activities;
  • Manufacturing documentation creation and update;
  • Investigates customer complaints;
  • Is responsible for initiating and documenting process changes;
  • Actively uses LEAN tools;
  • Preparation and maintenance of equipment.

Requirements:

Education

  • Degree in bioengineering, biochemistry, biotechnology or similar life sciences

Experience:

  • Experience in protein extraction and purification

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge of protein properties and analytical methods used in biotechnology;
  • Knowledge of the principles of equipment management and maintenance;
  • Knowledge of general principles of documentation;
  • English and Lithuanian language skills;
  • Diligence, attention to detail, responsibility, organization.

Compensation

The monthly salary range estimated for this position based in Lithuania is €2 891,67–€4 335,42.
