From our base in Palma de Mallorca, we cater services for some of the world’s largest yachts and key cruise line companies, with a very strong commitment to service quality & availability.
We operate global VSAT GEO networks from our own teleports & HUBs located in Palma de Mallorca, Germany, Netherlands, Chile, USA, and Australia. As part of our integral, end-to-end solutions we design, implement, and support onboard IT networks. From 2022, we are also partnering with Starlink to offer LEO coverage.
Description Of Functions
As part of our international team of Field Engineers, you will need to travel (mostly in Europe) to install, commission and troubleshoot onboard cutting-edge IT networks, 4G/5G, Starlink satellite communications and traditional VSAT systems.
Since the works at OmniAccess cover a wide scope of activities, installation jobs typically include:
- Installation and commissioning of network components.
- Installation and commissioning of marine stabilized parabolic antennas.
- Installation and commissioning of Starlink terminals.
- RF troubleshooting with a spectrum analyzer.
- Troubleshooting and repair of antenna components.
- Basic configuration of network equipment.
- Troubleshooting of Network devices and SD-WAN capabilities.
- Document the installation with a complete report.
- Support your colleagues and other departments.
Necessary experience & qualifications:
- Willingness to learn, obtain technical certifications and participate in internal and external training courses.
- Ability for logical thinking and systematic troubleshooting.
- Good command of English (written & verbal).
- Good communication skills with a client-focused attitude.
- Some background in a relevant subject (Telecommunications Engineering,
- Satellite engineering, IT/Networking): University degree and/or relevant professional experience.
The ideal candidate would have some experience in one or more of the following fields, but it is not strictly required:
- Practical “hands on” knowledge of IT networking concepts & fundamentals (routing, switching, wireless networking).
- General RF knowledge (radio communication links, RF engineering, antennas, link-budgets, microwaves etc.)
- Experience with the major Microsoft OS’s and applications (Office 365)
- Affinity with vessels and the yacht world.
- Resident or citizen of an EU country, able to start immediate employment by OmniAccess in Mallorca without requiring any visa or work-permit.
- Experience on Firewalls and SD-WAN.
- Experience with operating and/or installing satellite networks (or comparable technologies), 4G/5G systems, and operating stabilized satellite antenna systems (such as Seatel, Sailor, Intellian).
- Experience working as a Field Engineer or at a Network Operations Center.
- Holding Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Peplink, or Fortinet certifications.
