About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Lead Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure backend systems that power our applications. This role requires excellent skills in PHP/Laravel and building RESTful interfaces. The Lead Engineering role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, ownership of backend architecture, a strong focus on performance, security, and maintainability and ability to mentor other developers.

About The Role

The Lead Engineering role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, ownership of backend architecture, a strong focus on performance, security, and maintainability and ability to mentor other developers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend services and RESTful APIs using PHP/Lavavel.
- Translate business requirements into well-architected backend solutions that support product and user needs.
- Participate in and help lead architectural discussions, contributing to technical decisions across projects.
- Collaborate with Product, Front-End, QA, Design, and DevOps teams to deliver new features and improve existing systems.
- Write clean, efficient, testable, and maintainable code, following established engineering best practices.
- Implement and maintain database schemas, data models, and integrations with third-party services.
- Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and help mentor junior developers.
- Ensure application performance, reliability, and security, including monitoring and troubleshooting production issues.
- Stay current with emerging backend technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns, and propose improvements to the development process.
- Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from design and development through deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend development in PHP/Laravel
- Strong experience with at least one backend language or framework.
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Solid understanding of databases and data modeling.
- Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
