The Role
The role of Global Events will own the strategy, planning, and execution of the Monad Foundation’s global event presence. You will build strong vendor and agency relationships, use data and insights to measure and improve outcomes, and create thoughtful, memorable experiences for a wide range of audiences including, but not limited to, builders and developers, community members, users, tokenholders, and Web2 and Web3 organizations.
Your work will define the Monad event experience globally and ensure that every hosted or sponsored event consistently delivers a high bar for quality, cohesion, and impact. The ideal candidate is highly organized, creatively driven, and energized by bringing people together through flawless planning, project management, and execution.
What You Will Do
Events Strategy and Execution
- Identify opportunities for long-term, recurring, and/or scalable events that are in support of Monad Foundation initiatives and priorities
- Own the planning and execution of hosted and/or sponsored events, ranging from small gatherings to large scale conferences across domestic and international destinations
- Define event goals, OKRs, success metrics, and conduct data-driven postmortems to continuously improve event impact and ROI
- Demonstrate proficiency in financial management and prudent spend philosophy in order to establish and manage event budgets and timelines
- Negotiate vendor contracts and manage financial reconciliation post-event
- Manage relationships with vendors, agencies, and other external stakeholders
- Work alongside leadership and key internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional experiences that capture and maximize ROI based on department objectives
- Assess and adapt to regional, cultural, and venue-specific requirements to ensure events are locally resonant and operationally sound
- Develop and maintain operational standards and playbooks to encourage consistent branding, elements, and ambiance across diverse event types
- Maintain and champion a high degree of quality across all stages of event planning, production, and execution
- Demonstrate resourcefulness in decisionmaking and driving events workstreams to completion, without compromising high standards
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable owning projects independently while managing multiple priorities
- Have a track record of resourceful decisionmaking and completion of workstreams
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to collaborate across cultures and time zones
- Creatively inclined with a strong eye for design and the ability to translate ideas into execution
- Minimum 7+ years of significant event planning experience, including:
- Ownership of complex events from conception to completion
- Management of direction and execution of both small and large-scale, multi-day events
- Comfortable working off-hours, being on-call, and adapting to flexible schedules as per event requirements
- Ability to be onsite and the designated POC for events, with up to 30% travel required domestically and internationally
- Experience with events across multiple geographic locations and time zones, including comfort with navigating cultural or language barriers
- Exceptional command of time management, communication, project management, and prioritization
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly under pressure
- Knowledge of fabrication, event technology, AV production, and digital integration
- Experience building events within the Web3/crypto industry
- Experience working within fast-paced startup environments
