About The Role
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Frontend Developer to join our eCommerce team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing the online shopping experience for our customers across the Crate and Barrel and CB2 brands. Your primary focus will be on implementing customer-facing solutions using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, ensuring that our websites are responsive, accessible, and high-performing. You will collaborate closely with design, UX, product management, and business stakeholders to translate visual designs and business requirements into functional, engaging web experiences. As an individual contributor, you will participate in all phases of the development lifecycle—estimating, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining web applications—within an Agile team environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the digital growth of a well-established brand while working remotely and flexibly.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in front-end web development
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS, AngularJS, or Vue.js
- Solid understanding of CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS
- Knowledge of responsive and adaptive design principles
- Experience with cross-browser compatibility and accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Familiarity with version control tools such as Git
- Experience with build tools like Webpack, Vite, or similar
- Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and backend integration
- Proficiency with browser developer tools
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience with project management tools like JIRA is preferred
- Retail experience is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement responsive web solutions using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Collaborate with design, UX, product teams, QA, and analytics to understand requirements and communicate progress
- Create and maintain responsive, cross-browser compatible, and accessible websites
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Contribute to technical design discussions and assist in defining front-end architecture
- Conduct code reviews and perform unit testing to ensure code quality
- Adhere to pattern libraries, style guides, and SDLC best practices
- Optimize website performance, speed, and SEO
- Coordinate with team members to ensure adherence to development standards and best practices
- Stay updated with the latest front-end technologies and industry trends
