We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Platform Automation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in partnering in designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced automation solutions for our platforms. This role requires expertise in infrastructure-as-code tools, container orchestration, and API development. Position: Senior Principal Software Developer (P5)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Partner with US based teams to design, develop, and implement advanced automation solutions to support platform infrastructure and deployment processes.
- Utilize tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Kubernetes to automate provisioning, configuration, and management of systems.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps, and system administrators, to optimize automation workflows.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve existing automation pipelines and infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in automation technologies and best practices, and proactively recommend improvements.
- Assist in API development to create or integrate automation tools and services.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers on automation best practices and tool usage.
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Engineering/MCA
- Should have 15+ years of experience in platform automation engineering or a related field.
- Cloud Computing Expertise – AWS, Azure, Kubernetes
- Proficiency in using Ansible to automate configuration management and deployment processes.
- Proficiency in using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices.
- Operating System Proficiency: Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems in a traditional workload and containerized environment
- Experience in API development to enable platform automation, including building and integrating RESTful APIs or microservices.
- DevSecOps: Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, security automation, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Advanced experience in platform automation engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in Ansible for configuration management and automation.
- Expertise in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and orchestration.
- Experience using GitLab for version control, CI/CD pipeline development, and collaborative software development workflows.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including deployment and management of containerized applications.
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a team.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly and effectively.
- Experience in API development, including RESTful APIs or microservices.
