This hands-on role combines system monitoring, incident management, testing, release management, and technical consultancy, acting as a bridge between IT teams, developers, and end-users.
This position is a onsite contract.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & Monitoring
- Monitor and analyse system logs using tools such as CloudWatch or Dynatrace
- Produce operational reports, dashboards, and statistics (e.g., using PIWIK or BI tools)
- Identify anomalies, investigate root causes, and contribute to system reliability and performance
- Handle incidents and problems on IT systems and applications (ITIL-based approach)
- Provide 2nd-level technical support to users for functional and non-functional issues
- Manage tickets with users and external service providers, ensuring timely resolution
- Test new functionalities and releases, identify and document issues
- Follow up on issue resolution with development teams
- Coordinate reception, validation, and testing of new releases
- Work with CI/CD pipelines (preferably Bitbucket and/or GitLab)
- Apply established change management procedures
- Analyse and contribute to the evolution of IT systems
- Draft and review technical and functional specifications
- Participate actively in technical working groups and project meetings
- Provide advice and guidance to teams on best practices and system improvements
- Create and maintain database scripts and Linux/Unix scripts
- Work with JSON queries, shell scripting, and API tools (e.g., curl, Postman)
- Deliver training sessions, workshops, and demonstrations to internal teams
- Serve as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Minimum 5 years of professional IT experience, including:
- Monitoring and analysing system logs
- Incident & Problem Management (ITIL)
- Testing and validating functional and non-functional requirements
- Drafting technical specifications
- Working in project management contexts
- Cloud-based environments
- Release management and CI/CD pipelines
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Equivalent professional experience may substitute formal education
- English: C1 level or higher
- Web technologies: HTML, XML (XPath, XSLT), CSS
- Databases: MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL
- Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting
- Application servers: Tomcat, JBoss/WildFly
- Monitoring tools: CloudWatch, Dynatrace
- Cloud platforms: AWS
- CI/CD tools: Bitbucket, GitLab
- Ticketing & documentation tools: JIRA, Confluence, GitLab
- Reporting & analytics: PIWIK, Power BI
- Programming/scripting: Java, Perl (basic to intermediate)
- Knowledge of network topologies (TCP/IP, load balancers, proxies)
- Experience with Elasticsearch
- Familiarity with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with automated testing
