About The Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer, Full Stack - Developer Console, to join our dynamic Developer Console team. This role is pivotal in building and enhancing internal tools that serve hundreds of engineers at DoorDash. The primary focus is on developing and maintaining our internal developer portal, known as the Developer Console, to improve the overall developer experience across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a product-oriented mindset, a passion for systems and software, and the ability to work across various technical domains, including front-end, back-end, and data. As a key member of the team, you will introduce innovative technologies, contribute to open-source projects, mentor peers, and help shape the future direction of our internal platforms. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the developer ecosystem at DoorDash and work on impactful projects that drive efficiency and collaboration within the engineering organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in web technologies, with proficiency in Typescript and React for front-end development.
• Backend experience with Java, Kotlin, Python, or Go.
• Strong understanding of product development and platform service architecture.
• Competence in both systems and software development.
• Curiosity and ability to dive deep into various system architectures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively across teams and collaborate on complex projects.
• Located in San Francisco, CA, Sunnyvale, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Seattle, WA, or New York, NY.

Responsibilities

• Introduce and implement cutting-edge technologies, including tools based on large language models (LLMs), to enhance the engineering ecosystem.
• Develop new features and functionalities for the Developer Console using Backstage.io.
• Enhance the developer experience for all internal engineers, making tools more accessible and efficient.
• Collaborate effectively across different teams and departments to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
• Contribute to upstream open-source projects by submitting features and bug fixes.
• Mentor and educate peers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Lead the team in technical planning, roadmap development, and measurement of existing features.
• Represent the team during OKR and engineering all-hands presentations, communicating progress and vision clearly.
• Define and articulate a strategic vision for the team, rallying members around shared goals and future developments.
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities, switching between frontend, backend, and data-related tasks as needed.
