What’s the Job?


VantagePoint are searching for a high-potential Associate Consultant to join our Workiva consulting team. This hands-on, client-facing role will help shape the next chapter of our APAC growth story. You will be solving real business problems, building technology solutions that go live on-time, in-budget, and meet the needs of senior finance leaders from day one.


You will combine technology, finance, and people skills to design, deliver, and take ownership of your work from start to finish. You’ll be doing meaningful, hands-on work, not hiding behind spreadsheets. We want this role to be a springboard for you to go from learning the ropes to setting direction.


Our APAC consulting revenues have grown more than 100% for the last three years (since inception). Having added more than ten new Australian clients last year, we were named Workiva Innovation Partner of the Year. What are the Responsibilities / Role?

  • Speaking directly with clients to understand their business needs and current processes.
  • Supporting the design of solutions and contributing ideas during workshops and design sessions.
  • Building and testing the solution, applying your understanding of both technology and the client’s business context.
  • Helping clients define and run testing, while supporting defect resolution and improvement cycles.
  • Explaining concepts to clients in their own language and considering their perspective in the messaging and the solution.
  • Supporting clients to upskill in Workiva by delivering demonstrations, tailored training sessions, class-room style learning experiences and delivering documentation by video.
  • Building trusted relationships that extend beyond a single project and open up new opportunities for VantagePoint.
  • Contributing to marketing or thought-leadership content that strengthens our reputation across the market.
  • Representing VantagePoint at events, talking to clients, prospects, and partners about the work we do.
  • Working with our APAC leadership team to deepen partnerships with technology vendors and explore new regions and service offerings.
  • Collaborating with VantagePoint’s other regions to share and learn best practices across delivery, marketing, engagement management and change management.


What about Training & Onboarding?

  • Consulting methodology training to help you understand how we deliver projects, manage clients, and keep quality high.
  • Sales and positioning training will support you in confidently and coherently representing our services to clients, and spotting opportunities to position further value-add engagements.
  • Functional coaching using scenarios and role-plays will help you manage challenging situations with customers, should you experience them.
  • Regular internal presentation training will hone your ability to craft a compelling story which supports an argument or direction of travel.
  • We adopt an open, two-way feedback culture, where lessons are shared quickly, wins are celebrated, and growth happens through honest conversation.
  • Technical certification pathways in Workiva and other technologies to help you become a trusted expert.
  • Sponsorship for professional courses, including areas such as AI and automation, where additional skills add value to our team and clients.
  • A dedicated line manager and buddy to make sure you are supported day-to-day.


What does success look like in 6-12 months?

  • Building strong, trusted relationships with your team and clients.
  • Delivering your work to a high standard with increasing independence.
  • Contributing ideas that improve how we deliver projects or how clients experience our work.
  • Gaining your Workiva certification(s) and showing real fluency in the platform.
  • Demonstrating curiosity and initiative by stepping into areas beyond your immediate purview.
  • Making a noticeable, positive impact for both our clients and on our internal culture.

  • If you are a charted accountant, that is a plus.

What’s in it for you?

Base salary:

  • Associate Consultant: AUD $71,000 – $112,750 per year

Plus:

  • 11.5% superannuation contribution on top of salary
  • 15% discretionary annual bonus, increasing by 5% each full year of service (capped at 25%)
  • 23 days of annual leave, increasing by one day each full year of service (capped at 27)

  • Employee referral bonus of $5,000 – $10,000
  • Client referral bonus of $3,000+

  • Up to four weeks per year working remotely (Consultant level and above)

  • We can sponsor working visas for the right candidate.
  • We have a very strong preference for Sydney-based candidates who can easily go to client offices.
