Role: DevOps Engineer for Telecom OSS Data Mediation (EXFO Context, Pronto)

Location: Helsinki, Finland

Employment type: Full-time

Experience: 6+yrs


Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Automate environment provisioning, configuration management, and infrastructure‑as‑code for mediation component
  • Engineer connectors/ETL to pull data from network inventories, service catalogs, CRMs, and external systems; enforce idempotency, retries/backoff, and error handling
  • Model data as RDF; curate vocabularies/ontologies to describe resources, services, topology, and customer context
  • Implement data quality rules (completeness, consistency, timeliness), lineage tracking, and versioned transformations
  • Manage webhooks/event streams to notify stakeholders of changes
  • Provide L2/L3 support for mediation issues; lead post‑mortems and drive preventive fixes


Experience & Skills Requirements:

Must have:

  • Telecom OSS domain knowledge: network & service inventory concepts, resource/service models, topology/dependency mapping, CRM data structures.
  • EXFO Nova Context / Pronto: configuration, data ingestion, transformation workflows, and operational troubleshooting.
  • SPARQL/RDF: semantic modeling, query authoring/optimization, ontology alignment (RDFS/OWL familiarity).
  • Programming & Scripting: Python/Java (for integrations and utilities), plus Shell for ops automation.
  • Data Engineering: schema mapping, canonical modeling, data validation, lineage/versioning.
  • DevOps & Automation: CI/CD (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps), infrastructure‑as‑code (Ansible/Terraform), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • ITIL governance: Incident/Problem/Change; CAB participation; RCA documentation


Good to have:

  • Experience with TM Forum frameworks (SID for canonical models, ODA/eTOM alignment).
  • Knowledge of graph databases (e.g., Blazegraph/Fuseki/Neptune) hosting RDF/SPARQL endpoints.
  • Familiarity with message buses (Kafka/ActiveMQ) and event‑driven patterns for data change notifications.
  • Exposure to AIOps/analytics for anomaly detection or service impact prediction.
