Role Description
Due to the creative nature of the brand, this role offers a broad variety of exciting projects. With support and guidance from senior members of Avoca marketing and design teams, you will be creating supporting visuals for a diverse range of work, while maintaining the integrity of the Avoca brand. This includes packaging, branding, catalogues, new product development, point of sale, large format print and digital projects.
We are looking for a strategic, organised, solutions-focused designer that enjoys all aspects of graphic design projects from concept to creation and can work excellently cross-functionally with Avoca teams. You should also have an impeccable eye for detail, with strong technical and creative expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Produce strategically appropriate creative assets for Avoca across a range media.
Support the marketing team in creative development.
Execute tasks efficiently within timelines and according to specifications.
Develop relationships and work collaboratively with wider Avoca team.
Assist in the development of larger branding and packaging projects.
Introduce new design concepts and demonstrate creative initiative.
Stay up-to-date with industry developments and tools.
Understand creative briefs and effectively implement feedback from senior team members.
Liaise with external printers and suppliers to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed to the highest quality.
Create and manage the internal asset store of photography, branding assets & materials.
Technical Requirements
Degree/Diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or similar.
Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with focus on Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop.
Good understanding of design principles, typography, layout and colour theory.
Good understanding of standard printing processes.
Experience in designing for screens, digital ads and web.
Ability to present unique creative concepts and create original designs using photography, illustration, typography, info graphics.
Good understanding of MS Office and Outlook skills including PowerPoint &/or Keynote skills.
Illustration skills desirable.
Experience Required
Capable of managing deadlines, multiple projects working under pressure and effectively communicating issues and challenges as they arise.
Enthusiastic, self-starter - takes responsibility for his/her own work.
Excellent communication, fluent English speaker.
Excellent organisation and digital hygiene.
Excellent time management skills and attention to detail with decisive actions.
Previous industry experience is preferable
