Do you want to play a central role in transforming how Danske Bank works with data, AI, and machine learning at scale?
Aligned with our Forward ’28 Group Strategy, Group Data & Analytics is building the foundation for utilizing advanced data and analytics capabilities. As part of this initiative, we are assembling a team of highly specialised experts who will collaborate with business and development teams to deliver solutions that enhance data-driven decision-making across the bank.
To support this effort, we have recently established an AI & Data Science Centre of Excellence (CoE). The CoE empowers the organisation to leverage data and AI technologies to deliver tangible business value. This is not only about building things right; it is also about building the right things. In the rapidly evolving field of AI, your contribution will be vital in maintaining that balance, ensuring we solve meaningful problems and deliver measurable benefits.
Why this role is unique
This is a new team within the CoE, giving you the rare opportunity to help shape how we operationalise AI solutions at Danske Bank. As part of our delivery team, your success will be measured by the real-world value we create for business teams. You will also play a key role in setting the direction and establishing best practices for deploying, monitoring, and maintaining machine learning (ML) models at scale.
Your challenges
In this role, you will collaborate closely with data scientists, data engineers, and ML engineers to ensure that AI models are deployed, scheduled, exposed, and monitored efficiently. You will contribute to defining and establishing standards, best practices, and ways of working for MLOps across the bank.
As Danske Bank migrates to Databricks and AWS, you will also play a pivotal role in driving the success of this transition. By partnering with teams across the organisation, you will accelerate the impact of AI/ML initiatives and help scale a robust AI platform.
This is more than an ML Engineering role – it is a chance to be part of something new, where your input will shape the direction of our AI delivery capabilities. You will join a newly established and dedicated team within the AI & Data Science CoE, blending data, design, and strategy to create real value for Danske Bank and its customers.
You will be surrounded by motivated, collaborative, and curious colleagues who will trust you to bring your unique voice, methods, and ideas to the table. If you are someone who is keen to learn, contribute, and grow with a focus on data and AI, we would be pleased to hear from you.
Depending on your experience and knowledge, we may offer you a different seniority for the role.
You will:
- Automate ML/AI workflows, including the implementation of CI/CD pipelines
- Optimise and streamline code in alignment with best practices, ensuring a robust and collaborative development environment for data science teams
- Establish quality controls by monitoring both model outputs and features used in models
- Deploy models (online and batch) to deliver results as data outputs or via API endpoints
- Educate and upskill data scientists and data engineers in MLOps practices, serving as a role model and thought leader within the team
- Operate within an agile framework, prioritising the backlog to deliver continuous results
- Build strong relationships with data scientists and business experts to understand their challenges and deliver solutions through AI product features
- Cultivate a positive and collaborative agile team culture while promoting a DevOps mindset
Do you see yourself reflected in many of these statements?
- You have knowledge of MLOps and 3-5 years of experience as an ML Engineer
- You are self-driven and thrive both independently and as part of a team
- You are outcome-focused, delivering high-quality work that drives impact
- You have experience in developing and deploying LLM applications
- You possess technical expertise in many of the following: Python development, Spark/PySpark, SQL, public cloud platforms (preferably AWS), Databricks, FastAPI for real-time model serving, MLFlow for experiment tracking and model registry, monitoring frameworks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana), containerisation (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift), version control in Git, CI/CD pipelines
- You have upper-intermediate English skills
- If you come from a different technical background (e.g., software, DevOps, or data engineering) and are curious about AI delivery, we still encourage you to apply. Your expertise may be highly relevant, and we value a diversity of skills and perspectives
We offer:
Monthly salary range from 4480 EUR to 6720 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
Additionally, each Danske Bank employee receives employee benefits package which includes:
- Growth opportunities: professional & supportive team, e-learnings, numerous development programs; (incl. professional certificates); 100+ professions for internal mobility opportunities.
