Senior Platform Engineer (DevOps)

Digitail is dedicated to transforming the veterinary profession through innovative, customer-driven technology solutions. We are building a leading all-in-one operating system for animal hospitals that helps veterinarians efficiently manage their entire business.

Our Opportunity

We recently closed our Series B funding ($25M) and we are scaling fast. We are looking for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join our team. Your primary mission is Developer Experience (DevEx).

We don’t view "Ops" as a silo that just keeps the lights on. We view Platform Engineering as a product team where the "customers" are our internal Product Engineers. Your job is to remove friction, automate bottlenecks, and help us ship code faster and safer.

What You Will Do

• Champion Developer Experience: Treat our engineering team as your VIP customer. Build tools and platforms that remove bottlenecks and allow developers to self-serve infrastructure safely.
• Optimization & Velocity: Implementation of CI/CD pipelines and environments that directly improve our DORA metrics (Deployment Frequency, Lead Time for Changes).
• Infrastructure as Code: Design, implement, and manage our AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Kubernetes (EKS) to ensure stability, scalability, and reliability.
• Code-First Approach: You won't just write YAML. You will write code (scripting, automation, or application patches) to solve infrastructure problems. If the best fix is a PR to the application codebase, you are expected to make it (with help if needed).
• Reliability & Scale: Ensure our rapidly scaling Vet SaaS platform remains performant and highly-available as we grow.
• Collaborate & Mentor: Work closely with Backend and Frontend engineers to integrate features and uphold engineering best practices. Foster a "sports team" culture where we help each other win.

Your Experience

• Platform & Cloud Expert: Deep hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes (EKS) in production environments.
• IaC Master: Strong proficiency with Terraform for managing infrastructure.
• Coding Skills: You are comfortable reading and writing code (PHP/Laravel experience is a massive plus but not a hard requirement, Python/Go works too). We are not looking for someone who refuses to look at and understand application code.
• DevEx Mindset: Proven track record of improving developer workflows and reducing ramp-up time for new hires.
• Solution-Driven: You possess a "smart execution" mindset in which you find ingenious paths to results rather than brute-forcing solutions.
• Agile & Adaptable: Experience working in fast-paced startups or scale-ups, with the ability to adapt and deliver in evolving environments.
