Outline of the job

Zinc seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead a forthcoming strategic communications project in Central and Eastern Europe. The Senior Project Manager will have significant experience in campaign and project delivery and be responsible for the day-to-day management of the technical and operational delivery of the project. This will entail integrating research, strategy and production to ensure the project achieves measurable impact within time, budget, and client requirements. The Senior Project Manager will also build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders across the region. They will report to the Project Director.

The Senior Project Manager will be hybrid and based in UK and be expected to be in our London office at least 2 days per week.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead day to day management of the project, contributing to its technical direction of while serving as the key point of contact with client and partners, along with the Project Director;
  • Support and contribute to the development of strategies, work plans, and results frameworks aligned with client priorities and audience needs;
  • Provide oversight of operational and contractual requirements, including budget management and risk mitigation to ensure timely and compliant delivery;
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams - including strategists, researchers, creatives, digital specialists, and partners - ensuring effective collaboration and knowledge integration;
  • Ensure consistent application of safeguarding, security, and ethical communication principles as required by Zinc and clients;
  • Lead on project reporting, working across Zinc teams and integrating monitoring, evaluation and learning as required;
  • Contribute to thought leadership and knowledge sharing and growth within the broader strategic communications space

Requirements

What we need from you...

  • Bachelor's or master's degree, or equivalent industry experience in communications, international development, security studies, behavioural science, or a related field;
  • Proven record in delivering strategic communications or counter-disinformation projects, ideally in fragile or sensitive contexts;
  • Senior-level experience managing international, donor-funded programmes (HMG, USAID, EU, UN, or similar);
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing operational environments;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to donors and high-level stakeholders;
  • Strong track record in stakeholder engagement and partnership management, including with governments, civil society, and media organisations;
  • Regional knowledge of Central and Eastern Europe is advantageous but not required;
  • SC security clearance
