Service Assurance Engineer - CGI Netwiser and Zabbix, QoS, ITIL, Linux/Unix
Contract Length: 12 months
Engagement Type: Freelance Contract
Location: Helsinki Hybrid 3 days per week
We are working with a technology-driven organisation seeking an experienced Service Assurance Engineer to support monitoring, mediation, and reporting activities across fixed network services. The role is hands-on and operational, focusing on traffic monitoring, incident triage, and service quality reporting across national and international routes.
This contract is well suited to someone with strong telecom OSS experience, particularly within traffic and QoS monitoring environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor CGI Netwiser and Zabbix services, triage incidents, and resolve application-level issues
- Ensure accurate collection, processing, and validation of call traffic volumes, quality metrics, and trend data across national and international routes
- Maintain and enhance PHP-based components used for mediation, reporting, and UI customisation
- Support integrations with OSS and BSS systems for Service Assurance workflows and reporting
- Generate and deliver reports covering SLA compliance, traffic trends, and QoS metrics
- Work closely with operations and service teams to support ongoing service assurance activities
- Troubleshoot issues within Linux or Unix environments and contribute to incident resolution
Must Have Skills and Experience
- Hands-on experience with CGI Netwiser for call traffic and QoS monitoring
- Strong PHP scripting experience, particularly for mediation layers and UI customisation
- Practical experience using Zabbix for infrastructure monitoring and alerting
- Solid understanding of ITIL processes and telecom OSS Service Assurance workflows
- Knowledge of fixed network technologies and call traffic metrics
- Strong Linux or Unix administration and troubleshooting skills
Nice to Have
- Experience working within large-scale telecom or service provider environments
- Exposure to complex OSS and BSS integrations
