YOUR MISSION
Do you want to join our rockstar team of innovators and make a REAL impact in the sustainability space?
At Circu Li-ion, we are pioneering the urban-mining revolution by delivering automated battery disassembly solutions that turn end-of-life batteries into high-value components and enable cleaner, safer, and more profitable circular processes. Our mission is to make battery recycling truly sustainable through smart automation and data-driven innovation. Join us and be part of a fast-growing team tackling one of the most critical environmental challenges of our time.
The role
We are looking for a Forward Deployed Robotics Engineer who thrives at the intersection of robotics development and real-world deployment. You will be the on-site extension of our robotics and integration teams, responsible for installing, commissioning, tuning, and validating our robotic disassembly systems at customer sites. You will ensure the successful transition from lab innovation to robust, scalable field performance.
This is a hands-on role that combines robotics expertise, system integration, and field engineering. You will work closely with internal R&D teams, suppliers, and partners to ensure Circu Li-ion’s robotic solutions operate safely, efficiently, and reliably in production environments.
Your responsibilities
- Deploy, commission, and validate robotic disassembly systems on-site at customer and partner facilities.
- Calibrate and fine-tune robotic arms, vision systems, sensors, and automation software for optimal performance in real-world conditions.
- Collaborate with robotics and automation teams to adapt and integrate robotic systems across variable environments.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues during installation and operation, coordinating fixes with internal teams.
- Execute field tests, performance evaluations, and reliability assessments to ensure system robustness.
- Maintain and document calibration procedures, test protocols, and deployment best practices.
- Gather performance data and user feedback to drive continuous improvement of robotics hardware, control logic, and perception algorithms.
- Train partner and customer teams on safe operation and maintenance of deployed systems.
- Support remote diagnostics and provide first-line field technical assistance post-deployment.
- Contribute to the creation of technical documentation, deployment logs, and service manuals.
YOUR PROFILE
- Degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience deploying and commissioning industrial robotic systems.
- Strong understanding of industrial robotics programming (ABB, KUKA, FANUC, or similar) and robotic control systems (ROS / ROS2).
- Experience in robot calibration, path and task planning, and integration of 6 DoF manipulators with sensors and end-effectors.
- Working knowledge of vision-based robotic applications (2D/3D cameras, perception pipelines, pose estimation).
- Proven ability to perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis in field environments.
- Familiarity with digital twin simulation, robot kinematics, and hardware/software synchronization.
- Comfortable working across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines.
- Strong communication and documentation skills; able to work closely with customers and internal teams.
- Hands-on, proactive, and safety-minded engineer with a passion for field problem-solving.
WHY US?
- High degree of collaboration and autonomy while working with a group of highly skilled, committed and supportive peers
- Transparent culture where everyone of us is highly valued
- Development of your professional skills and knowledge by taking ownership of challenging tasks and responsibilities, supported by Leads and peers
- “Getting things done” attitude, and access to cutting edge technologies
- A guaranteed steep continuous learning curve from day one
- Complementary Health Insurance
