Atlassian Engineer (on-prem and cloud environments) - DevOps, IaaC, ScriptRunner, Jira, (Shell, Python Ansible, or Groovy)
Location: Stockholm, Sweden, 5 days per week onsite
Duration: 12 months contract and extendable.
We are supporting a fast-growing tech company that is expanding its Atlassian capability. They are looking for an experienced Atlassian Engineer to work hands-on with Jira and the wider Atlassian suite, supporting cloud migration, automation, and custom development to improve internal platforms and user experience.
This role suits someone who enjoys working close to engineering and operations teams, owning Atlassian platforms end to end, and delivering practical improvements that directly impact how teams work.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and enhance Atlassian tools including Jira and other Atlassian products across on-prem and cloud environments
- Lead and support Atlassian Cloud migrations, following best practices for security, performance, and scalability
- Work with ScriptRunner to deliver scripting and automation within Atlassian products
- Develop and enhance order portal functionality within Jira to streamline ordering processes and improve user experience
- Implement automation and custom workflows to improve efficiency across teams
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to support platform improvements
- Apply Infrastructure-as-Code principles where applicable to Atlassian environments
- Troubleshoot platform issues and support users with configuration or performance challenges
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing across the team
Must Have Skills and Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Atlassian tools in both on-prem and cloud environments
- Proven expertise in Atlassian Cloud migration projects and best practices
- Strong experience with ScriptRunner for automation and scripting within Atlassian products
- Experience developing custom functionality within Jira, including portals and workflows
- Scripting experience in one or more languages such as Shell, Python, Groovy, or Ansible
- Solid understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code principles
Nice to Have
- Strong experience with the Groovy scripting language
- Experience working in fast-paced or scaling technology environments
