Principal Software Engineer / Architect

Join one of Australia's most well-respected Technology teams in a role where you will play a vital position in shaping the direction and future of their applications.

This is a very Senior position in which you will make high-level decisions for their flagship applications, collaborate heavily with Senior Executive stakeholders, and inspire large teams across the business.

To be successful in this role, you must be a subject-matter expert in backend Software Engineering and have strong recent experience in Solution Design, Cloud, and Kubernetes!

This role will be very strategic, and you will be working on assessing, exploring, and researching new ways of working and advising the company on how they can take their applications to the next level.

Based on the importance of this position, they will consider both contract and permanent applicants.

If you have worked as a Software Engineer for most of your early career and then moved into a Principal / Staff / Lead Engineer or Solution/Domain Architect level role - we would love to hear from you!

Experience We Are Looking For:

• Extensive experience with Solution Design and Architecture, ideally in a high-traffic and customer-focused environment.
• Strong Cloud Platforms experience (GCP and/or Azure)
• Strong Kubernetes / CI/CD / DevOps / Cloud Infrastructure experience (IaaS)
• Expert across Solution Architecture, Design Patterns, Best Practices etc
• Strong experience with Microservices & Event-driven Architecture
• Strong experience with .NET
• Experience working with Agile teams.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• The ability to work closely with and present to Senior Stakeholders and 'Head of' level colleagues
• Experience with POCs, prototyping, and delivering large enterprise-level applications
