Your role

Interested in working in finance, specifically to contribute to the stability of the firm’s production environment, but not sure where to start? Do you want to work for a firm with a truly global footprint?

We're looking for ambitious students to join our 2025 Off-cycle Internship Program within our Group Compliance, Regulatory & Governance Department.

You’ll get to

• implement innovative solutions leveraging natural language processing and generative AI, primarily in the financial crime prevention area
• identify and process relevant input data, effectively test and monitor the output
• deploy and fine tune open source large language models in experimental environments
• automate the testing and monitoring of the model behavior
• optimize the computational footprint of the models
• conduct code reviews and write tests, participate in all phases of the solution lifecycle
  
  

Your team

You will be joining the Client Due Diligence team within GCRG Methodologies and Models, the model and innovation hub for UBS non-financial risk management. The team is set up globally, with model developers and operation specialists working in close collaboration to ensure an efficient and effective mitigation of client risk.
Your team will be in Zurich and Lausanne, Switzerland.

Your expertise

We’re looking for a candidate who

• has completed at least 4 semesters of a bachelor's degree, and graduated no longer than six months ago (bachelor's or master's degree)
• demonstrable data-centered coding skills in Python.
• has solid understanding of natural language processing, large language models and transformer architecture.
• has algorithm design/analysis, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• has strong communication and presentation skills in English, both verbal and written, ability to explain things clearly to different audiences.
• is familiar with cloud-based DevOps best practices is a strong plus.
• has values that align with ours hard-working, trustworthy, dedicated and collaborative
• is a strategic thinker with strong communication skills
• is motivated to work in a business with high demands and tight deadlines
